What it is
The camps serve dinner at long shared tables, which suits most evenings. This is the other option: a table set apart, far enough that you hear the music rather than sit inside it, with a waiter assigned to you alone.
It is the setting most people choose for a proposal. We have arranged enough of them to know that what fails is never the decor: it is the timing. So we agree the hour, the moment the table is lit, and when the photographer appears, if there is one.
When to go
After dark, and worth combining with the hour before it on a ridge away from the camp. Sunset first, then the table: that sequence is the one that works.
