What this looks like on the plateau
The plateau photographs extremely well and that is exactly why it is worked hard. Forty minutes from Marrakech you get open ground, a clean horizon, the Atlas behind, and two windows of light a day that need no correction. The difficulty is never the location; it is the logistics around it.
A crew changes what a camp is willing to accept. Guests are paying to be somewhere quiet, and a shoot is not quiet. Some camps take crews happily in low season and refuse them outright between March and May. We know which, and we say so before you scout rather than after.

What we tell you early
- Permits are required for commercial filming in Morocco and take time; we tell you what applies rather than guessing
- Power on the plateau is limited and mostly solar. A lighting setup means a generator, and a generator means noise and a location away from guests
- Some camps refuse crews in high season, and no budget changes that
- Drone flying is regulated in Morocco and is not a decision to take on the day
- Golden hour is short and does not wait: call times matter more here than in a studio

Planning and lead time
Four to six weeks for anything requiring a permit, and longer if you are shooting between March and May. A simple stills shoot with a small crew can sometimes be placed in a week, in low season, at a camp that is used to it.
