Agafay changes in the late afternoon. The light comes in sideways, the canyons fill with shadow, and the whole plateau turns ochre for about forty minutes before it goes blue. That is the hour to arrive.
Dinner is served once it is dark, outside if the weather allows. After that the camp goes quiet and the sky takes over. There is no light pollution out here, which is the part most people are not expecting.

Before you come
What time should I arrive?
Late afternoon, in time for the light. The hour before dark is the reason to come, and arriving after it means missing the best part of the evening.
What is served for dinner?
A Moroccan dinner, cooked at the camp. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements are straightforward if you tell us when you book.
Is there music?
Most camps have musicians on some evenings. It varies by camp and by night, so ask us if you want an evening with music or an evening without.
Can I see the stars?
Yes, and it is genuinely dark out there. Bring a jacket. The temperature drops fast once the sun is down, in every season.
Can I stay the night afterwards?
Yes. A night pass can be turned into an overnight stay if there is a tent free. It is usually better value to book the stay from the start.
